Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo are often compared to one another as players.

Both are defensive midfielders who made big-money moves in the summer of 2023, and both are considered among the best in the world.

The comparison between the two is natural, and now, speaking to Sky Sports, Moises Caicedo has shared his verdict on Declan Rice as a player.

The Ecuadorian may be Rice’s rival, but he was more than happy to praise the Arsenal ace, acknowledging that the England international is an incredible player operating at the top level.

Moises Caicedo praises Declan Rice

Caicedo shared his verdict on Rice after being asked about the rivalry between the pair.

Interestingly, Caicedo had nothing but good things to say about Rice, stating that he thinks he’s a brilliant footballer.

Caicedo also reserved some special praise for Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch and Brighton’s Carlos Baleba.

“No, to be honest, I know Declan Rice, he is such a good player,” Caicedo said.

“The other player I like is Gravenberch. So good. So good. And Baleba as well. Both of them. They are so good. And yeah, I normally watch them when they play. So yeah, I enjoy when they play.”

Declan Rice’s Moises Caicedo verdict

Caicedo is a fan of Rice, and the feeling is also mutual.

Indeed, Rice has praised Caicedo too in the past, noting that he actually voted for Caicedo in his Team of the Year last term.

“I have a lot of respect for Moises Caicedo. I voted him last year in my PFA Team of the Year. I thought he was outstanding. There’s so many comparisons, but we’re playing different positions,” Rice said.

Caicedo was linked to Arsenal once upon a time, and, in another world, these two could’ve been playing together in Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
