Arsenal have the best defence in the world, and Myles Lewis-Skelly is a part of that group.

The Gunners have let in just three goals in all competitions in 14 games. They aren’t even conceding shots on target regularly in the Premier League lately.

That is very rare to see and is one of the biggest reasons why they are at the top of the league table right now.

Lewis-Skelly has now revealed the secret behind this Arsenal side’s defensive prowess.

Myles Lewis-Skelly explains why Arsenal have the best defence

Arsenal’s defence is a nightmare for any team to come up against.

The Gunners have an elite first-choice back four of Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori, and all of them have been brilliant this season.

However, what makes Arsenal impressive is the fact that their second-choice back four is absolutely incredible too – we saw that against Brighton in the Carabao Cup.

Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera, Piero Hincapie and Myles Lewis-Skelly came in and kept a clean sheet without too much trouble.

That is exactly what every top team needs, especially at home, where Arsenal have conceded just one goal all campaign.

Speaking about the defensive strength at the Emirates, Lewis-Skelly revealed that Arsenal players are calling the stadium “our house”, and that has helped.

He told HaytersTV: “It’s just the pride. When we’re at our house – we call it (The Emirates) our house – and nothing comes in our house, nothing comes in our goal.

“We take pride in keeping clean sheets, stopping shots and stopping crosses. We don’t want anyone scoring!”

Arsenal could prove Sir Alex Ferguson right

Sir Alex Ferguson is the greatest manager the Premier League has ever seen.

The legendary Manchester United boss won 13 titles in England and two Champions Leagues among many other trophies during his time at Old Trafford.

Although people mostly remember United’s iconic attackers, their defenders played a big part in their success.

Ferguson once famously said: “Attack wins you games, but defence wins you titles.”

Arsenal can prove the Scot right this season by winning both the Premier League and the Champions League if they maintain their solidity at the back.
