Myles Lewis-Skelly has provided an insight into Arsenal youngster Max Dowman’s character behind the scenes.

Dowman has caught the eye with some outstanding cameo performances for the Gunners in pre-season and against Leeds last weekend.

The starlet is very highly thought of within Arsenal and the Hale End academy, and could feature for Mikel Arteta’s team more frequently moving forward.

He’ll hope to enjoy a similar meteoric rise this season to what his Gunners counterparts Ethan Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly enjoyed last term.

Myles Lewis-Skelly says Max Dowman is ‘so humble’

Dowman became the youngest Arsenal player to play for the Gunners in a competitive fixture at the Emirates Stadium against Leeds.

He also still has over a year to break the Premier League record for youngest ever goalscorer, while he’s already earning comparisons to the likes of Lamine Yamal and Lionel Messi.

With this much attention at such a young age, Dowman would be forgiven for allowing the hype to get to his head.

However, Lewis-Skelly has revealed that the 15-year-old is a ‘good kid’ behind the scenes at Arsenal, describing him as ‘humble’.

“Yeah, he’s got a lot of quality, man, and he’s a good kid, which is so important,” Lewis-Skelly said on the Sky Sports YouTube channel.

Completing six dribbles in his 95 minutes of action, this would represent a miraculously prolific take-on rate if sustained over a larger sample.

He also managed to complete 88% of his passes despite taking risks in possession, indicating that he’s already established an air of gravitas when coming up against defenders, who are eager to not commit to a tackle.

The sky is the limit for Dowman.
