Arsenal are travelling to Hong Kong for their final pre-season fixture on the Asia tour.

Myles Lewis-Skelly will be hoping to continue his preparations for the new season with more minutes under his belt but the Hale End star has just shocked many by revealing that his side have a better defender than William Saliba in their ranks.

Speaking to the club’s official TikTok account, Lewis-Skelly was asked to build his ‘dream’ Arsenal footballer.

Lewis-Skelly praised Ethan Nwaneri during the video for his flair but surprised many by naming Gabriel Magalhaes over Saliba for his defensive attributes.

Amongst the 18-year-old’s other picks, Thierry Henry was chosen for his shooting, whilst his captain Martin Odegaard was selected for his passing ability.

With Robert Pires on dribbling and Patrick Vieira’s leadership, Lewis-Skelly may just have built the game’s first ever £200m player with a mixture of club legends and modern greats.

How William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes compared last season at Arsenal

Saliba and Gabriel have formed a formidable partnership at the Gunners and are widely regarded as one of the best centre back pairings in world football.

They boasted the best defensive record in the Premier League last season and despite missing the final two months of the season, Gabriel had perhaps his best campaign for the club since arriving.

Saliba held the slight advantage in a number of key areas last season but the duo complement each other’s game so well.

Gabriel is yet to feature in pre-season after sustaining a slight niggle upon his return from hamstring surgery but Arteta will be keen to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible.

With the season opener at Old Trafford just around the corner, luckily the pairing won’t need much preparation to resume their partnership and supporters will be hoping they are the foundations to launch another assault on the title.
