Ethan Nwaneri starred for the England U21s in their win over Moldova.

The Young Lions won their opening European qualifying game against Kazakhstan in September. Nwaneri scored the opener in that game in Pavlodar.

On Friday, the Arsenal attacker started as a number 10, and he ran the show to help the England U21s win 4-0 at the Zimbru Stadium.

Arsenal star Ethan Nwaneri earns praise for his England U21s display

Ethan Nwaneri is one of the best young players in England.

The Arsenal star is the youngest player to make an appearance in the Premier League, and he has produced a few memorable performances in the famous red and white.

Lee Carsley gave Nwaneri the nod against Moldova on Friday, and the 18-year-old picked up two assists and was involved in another goal in the Young Lions’ 4-0 win.

Arsenal fans were in awe of Nwaneri’s display, and it looks like Sky Sports were impressed too.

Hailing the youngster, they wrote: “Divin Mubama scored his first two goals for England Under-21s, but Ethan Nwaneri was the architect of a 4-0 win over Moldova, which took them top of their European Championship qualifying group with a second successive victory.

“Arsenal attacking midfielder Nwaneri was given licence to roam in the number 10 position and provided assists for the opening two goals scored by Chelsea winger Jamie Gittens and Stoke striker Mubama in Chisinau.

“He also laid on the through ball that saw debutant Josh King brought down for a 74th-minute penalty, which was converted by Mubama.”

Ethan Nwaneri is stuck in a difficult position in England

Nwaneri was the best player on the pitch for the England U21s against Moldova, and this isn’t the first time this has happened.

The Englishman is too good to be playing at youth level and will always stand out.

However, a promotion to the England senior team is unlikely to happen anytime soon as Thomas Tuchel’s midfield is stacked.

The likes of Cole Palmer, Eberechi Eze, Morgan Gibbs-White, Morgan Rogers and Jack Grealish are all in contention for a spot in the Three Lions side.

Nwaneri, as a result, is stuck in between, but it’s still great to see him delivering whenever he plays.
