Nobody in Arsenal’s 137-year history ‘comes close’ to matching stunning Gabriel Martinelli record

Gabriel Martinelli has found his feet again at Arsenal.

The Brazil international has scored six goals in all competitions so far this season, two of which have come in his last three games.

Martinelli has come under a fair bit of criticism this campaign for some of his performances, but every Arsenal fan knows that he has the ability to cause serious damage to the opposition.

We really hope that Martinelli can score more goals this season – not just because it’s good for him, but because Arsenal are almost guaranteed a win every time he finds the net.

Gabriel Martinelli holds an amazing record at Arsenal

Arsenal signed Martinelli from Ituano, a fourth-tier Brazilian club, in the summer of 2019.

Nobody had really heard of the young attacker at the time, but he became an instant fan favourite at the Emirates after getting a chance under Unai Emery.

Over the years, Martinelli has scored 47 goals and provided 24 assists for Arsenal, which is not a bad record at all considering that he’s still only 23 years old.

What’s amazing about those 47 goals is that Arsenal have never lost a game when he has found the net, winning 35 and drawing six of the 41 different games he has scored in.

That 41-game unbeaten run while scoring puts him above everyone who has ever worn the famous red and white.

“When you compare those numbers across our 137-year history, no other player comes close to matching Gabi’s feats,” Arsenal’s official website writes.

Below Martinelli on the list are Lee Dixon, Perry Groves and Ray Parlour, who only managed 26-game unbeaten runs many years ago.

Gabriel Jesus is the king of this record in the Premier League

Martinelli has the bragging rights at Arsenal for holding this stunning record, but his compatriot is actually the real king.

Gabriel Jesus has been playing in England since 2017, when he joined Manchester City from Palmeiras in Brazil. The attacker has scored 76 times in the Premier League so far.

Those 76 goals have come in 62 different games, and Jesus hasn’t lost any of them. The Brazilian has ended up on the winning side on 57 occasions and has drawn the other five.

That is a Premier League record, one we hope will stay with Jesus until he’s at Arsenal. Then, we want Martinelli to get past him.
