Noni Madueke’s move to Arsenal was undoubtedly the most contested transfer of the summer, with some opinions leaving many red-faced.

Leaving Chelsea to sign for Arsenal, the England international followed a similar path to many before him in the summer window.

Though the 23-year-old favoured the red side of London, some Arsenal fans were against signing Madueke, making their disagreement with the transfer known on social media.

Since then, Madueke has spoken about the situation with Arsenal fans, something he’s very much forgotten due to how well things have started for him at the Emirates.

Noni Madueke loves Arsenal fans

Declan Rice was appalled by Arsenal fans upon learning about the discourse surrounding Madueke’s move.

Luckily, the discussion is a thing of the past, the distant past, in fact, as Madueke made clear in the mixed zone after Arsenal’s win over Bayern Munich.

“Being in the stadium and how the fans have taken to me in the stadium is unbelievable. I’m not really worried about all of that; that’s in the distant past,” he told Hayters.

Has Noni Madueke proven himself to be a good signing at Arsenal yet?

The England winger then revealed the positive impact that Arsenal fans are having on his career, signalling what supporters can do to make him even better.

“The last game versus Tottenham, it’s incredible that gives me such a boost,” Madueke said.

“I play on the side of the pitch, I can feel them, I can hear them, so when they’re that positive about me, it gives me a massive boost, honestly, I’m made up about it.”

The support of Arsenal fans is exactly what the former Chelsea star will require on Sunday, as he prepares to return to Stamford Bridge, this time, as the enemy.

Madueke doesn’t expect to be fazed by possible Chelsea hostility

Enzo Maresca allowed Madueke to leave Chelsea as he insisted that he didn’t want any unhappy players in his squad.

Now at Arsenal and top of the Premier League, Madueke is beaming, but on Sunday, he’ll have his game face on.

When speaking ahead of the fixture, the forward played down any focus on his transfer.

“For me, it’s another game; the fixture is not about me, the fixture is about Arsenal getting another three points in the league and being closer to our objectives. That’s honestly how I think about it,” Madueke explained.

The Englishman then admitted that he’s unsure what to expect from Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge, stating that either way, he won’t be fazed.

“It might be a little hostile; it might not be,” he said.

“I’m a professional footballer, I’ve played in a lot of atmospheres, so I don’t know if anything will faze me. I’ll just be focused on the task at hand.”

Madueke can make himself an Arsenal hero with a goal at Stamford Bridge, a situation that plenty of Chelsea fans might already be having nightmares about.
