The Arsenal captain was forced off against Sporting CP with an injury and was subbed off after 70 minutes in Lisbon on Tuesday.

Odegaard struggled during the game against Sporting and did not look fully fit before limping off the pitch with a minor issue.

The North London club have been left sweating over his fitness; however, the midfielder looks to have avoided any serious damage.

Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard has suffered a ‘small setback’

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has suffered a ‘small setback’, but he is not expected to be out for long, according to Stale Solbakken.

The Norwegian national team manager has been speaking about his squad and issued an update on Odegaard’s injury.

Speaking to the media in Norway, Solbakken said: “A small setback. I think he’ll be back on the pitch before long.”

Odegaard’s chances of facing Bournemouth at the weekend now look to be slim, but there was one big injury boost this morning.

Eberechi Eze was spotted back in Arsenal training and could take his place in the team for the weekend’s Premier League clash.

The midfielder has missed the last three matches for the Gunners and has been a big loss for the team without his creativity.

Eze was really good against Bayer Leverkusen; however, he picked up a calf issue during the game.

His return now seems to be very timely, given the fact that Odegaard is set for a small spell on the sidelines.

Along with Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori, and Piero Hincapie were also missing from training this morning.
