Arsenal take on West Ham United in their first London Derby of the season.

The Gunners have started the campaign very well. They are just two points off the top of the Premier League table and have conceded just three goals in nine games in all competitions.

On Saturday, when West Ham come to North London, Arsenal will be the favourites to win the game, but the same fixture over the last two years has not gone Mikel Arteta’s way.

The Irons have won on each of their last two visits to the Emirates, but the blueprint to beat them has just been revealed by their own manager.

Nuno Espirito Santo explains West Ham United’s ‘big problem’ ahead of Arsenal clash

West Ham United sacked Graham Potter and appointed Nuno Espirito Santo as his successor at the end of September.

The Irons were shocking under their former boss, but they now have a brilliant coach who has proven his quality in the Premier League.

Santo has been at the helm for about a week, and his side picked up an important point away at Everton in his first game in charge.

Now, an even bigger test awaits him against Arsenal at the Emirates, and one of the Gunners’ biggest strengths happens to be West Ham’s biggest weakness – set-pieces.

In his press conference, Santo was asked about that, and the new Hammers boss admitted that it is a big problem.

He said, as relayed on HaytersTV: “That’s a big problem that we have to solve.

“We’ve been working on it, and I think we improved in the last game, still a problem with the second phase, but it’s something that we’re really concerned about and trying to address.

“We have to solve it. Nowadays, set-pieces have a huge impact on the game.”

Nicolas Jover will be licking his lips ahead of Arsenal vs West Ham

Nicolas Jover is the best set-piece coach in the world, and he has transformed Arsenal in that department over the last few years.

The Gunners are the most dominant team in the Premier League in set-pieces and are always a threat during corners.

West Ham have the worst set-piece record in the division so far this season, conceding eight goals from such situations in their first six games.

Arsenal have scored from 36 corners since the start of the 2023/24 campaign, and we’re sure Jover will have a few plans to increase that tally against West Ham on Saturday.
