Oleksandr Zinchenko will already be furious with Nottingham Forest just days after his transfer from Arsenal

Oleksandr Zinchenko was one of six players to leave Arsenal on deadline day of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal completed seven deals on deadline day, putting Andrea Berta to work in the dying embers of the summer market.

While the eight signings Berta welcomed to the club over the transfer window were positives, the sporting director wasn’t able to get everything he wanted.

After spending £257m, Arsenal wanted to offload a handful of players permanently, but as time ran out on deadline day, five players left on loan.

Oleksandr Zinchenko left out of Nottingham Forest’s Europa League squad

Fabio Vieira, Jakub Kiwior, Lucas Nygaard, Reiss Nelson and Oleksandr Zinchenko left for the season on deadline day, with the latter arguably being the most important exit.

Zinchenko is one of the highest earners at Arsenal, collecting £200k-a-week, wages that Berta would’ve been desperate to partly shift from the club’s expenses.

In a shock late swoop, Nottingham Forest signed the Ukrainian on a season-long loan, seeing the benefits of what the defender could offer to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad in the Premier League.

It’s good news for Zinchenko, who has been public with his lack of game time at Arsenal, but the 28-year-old has already been handed a blow.

When it comes to game time, Zinchenko’s needs won’t be entirely met at Forest, having been omitted from Nuno’s Europa League squad.

The Arsenal loanee didn’t make the cut for Forest’s league phase fixtures in the Europa League, something the former Manchester City ace won’t be best pleased about.

Arsenal academy product Omari Hutchinson also misses out

While the Forest squad embark on the first stage of their Europa League journey, Zinchenko will not be present, but he’ll have company with another former Gunner.

Hale End product Omari Hutchinson was also left out of Nuno’s squad, despite making a club-record move to the City Ground in the summer.

Forest paid an eye-watering fee of £37.5m for Hutchinson, who has three goals in 34 Premier League appearances to his name.

The transfer looks all the more confusing now, given that Nuno doesn’t want the Englishman in his squad in the Europa League.

It’s bad news for Hutchinson and Zinchenko, who will undoubtedly have some questions for their manager.
