Arsenal have had torrid luck with injuries over the last two seasons.
The Gunners did not go into a single game with a fully fit squad for two consecutive campaigns, yet they finished second in 2024/25 and won the Premier League in 2025/26.
That deserves enormous praise, but it shouldn’t hide the fact that injuries are a massive concern that needs to be fixed.
One of the biggest of those worries is with William Saliba.
What’s your message to John Terry after he said William Saliba is not world-class?
William Saliba may need a minor surgery for his back issue
Saliba is one of the most important players at Arsenal.
The Gunners are more likely to win a game with him in their backline than someone else, and that has been evident over the years.
Saliba played several months with pain in his back last season, and he is continuing to do so with the French national team at the World Cup.
That is concerning in itself, but Hand of Arsenal has now revealed something even more worrying.
The Arsenal insider has claimed that the Gunners’ medical department are monitoring Saliba’s back amid his issues over the last year.

In order to correct that, there is a chance that he may have to undergo a small surgery, but nothing has been decided just yet.
Hand of Arsenal wrote in a tweet: “Arsenal are also monitoring Saliba’s back condition, and he could potentially need a minor procedure of some sort. Nothing decided yet.”
Saliba’s back has been causing him problems since 2023, and the fact that it has still not been resolved is concerning.
However, the Arsenal number two continued to play regularly to help the Gunners win the Premier League and is now playing through pain to help France at the World Cup.
That shows elite mentality and explains why he is one of the very best.
