PSG star Ousmane Dembele has spoken out about the injury he suffered in a clash against Arsenal in the Champions League.

The winger was a key contributor in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, making the most of a telling moment just four minutes into the game.

A cutback from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia found the feet of Dembele, who put away a cool finish from the edge of the box to give his side the lead.

PSG now lead Arsenal 1-0 heading into the second leg of the semi-final, with only two teams in Champions League history coming back from a first-leg home defeat.

While the Gunners have been missing players, their Parisian opposition haven’t suffered the same injury luck.

That may be about to turn, though, through Dembele.

Ousmane Dembele claims he is fine after suffering injury during Arsenal vs PSG

PSG star Ousmane Dembele is an injury doubt after picking up a slight concern in his side’s win over Arsenal.

The forward was substituted in the second half of the tie, being replaced by Bradley Barcola with around 20 minutes left.

He was devastating for Luis Enrique, playing as something of a false nine and dropping into pockets to cause problems for Arsenal.

That threat being subdued for the second leg could prove to be a problem, though Dembele has spoken out about his injury concerns.

Speaking to L’Equipe after the match, he revealed: “I felt a little something, but it’s okay.”

While it certainly suggests he could make a comeback for the second leg, the report adds that scans and tests are underway straight away to ensure he is fine.

It remains to be seen whether the Frenchman will be back involved for the clash at the Parc des Princes next Wednesday.

What Luis Enrique said about Ousmane Dembele’s injury

With Ousmane Dembele now a doubt, Luis Enrique has revealed exactly what the extent of the issue is for the forward.

He told the press after PSG’s win over Arsenal: “It’s not serious, it’s something very minor, but he’s probably a doubt for the second leg. We’re going to try to get Dembele back on the pitch. But we’re a real team.

“If Ousmane can play, that’s better. But if he doesn’t, we’ll still be a real team. We’ve been saying that since the start of the season.”

Dembele wasn’t available for the first meeting between the two teams in the league phase, due to a falling out with Enrique.

In the months since, his return to the side has coincided with a boost in form and that much showed in the performance at the Emirates Stadium.

Any absence in the second leg can only be seen as a blow for PSG.
