Arsenal fans are still hopeful that their team can bounce back from some tough results to make a push in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners sit third in the table, four points behind Liverpool and five points behind Manchester City as they lead the way.

Mikel Arteta has been dealt some difficult hands as injuries and suspensions to key players, along with refereeing decisions, have left the side disadvantaged at certain points.

Arsenal aren’t quite over the challenge yet as games away at Newcastle and Chelsea await them in the Premier League before the international break.

With hopes still high of a first-placed finish and perhaps some silverware along the way, the Emirates Stadium eagerly anticipates the remainder of the season.

However, for former Manchester United duo Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand, the recent struggles of the north London side have become the subject of a joke.

Patrice Evra lands Netflix jab at Arsenal

Both Evra and Ferdinand know what it takes to win a title and at times, they came at the expense of Arsenal.

A fierce rivalry between the sides endured over the 1990s and 2000s as two of the top teams in the country.

Some of that spirit still seemingly lives on within Evra, who made a jab at Arsenal and their title hopes in a recent appearance on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel.

The former defender said: “I keep saying to all of my Arsenal friends, and I respect Arsenal, watching Arsenal is watching Netflix you know, you’re always waiting for the next season.

“Trust me, every season is going to be like that,” he added as Ferdinand appeared to be in hysterics over the comment.

It comes at a time when Arsenal may start questioning the position of Arteta is he does fail to get the side over the line to win trophies.

While the Gunners are far from any point of moving on the head coach who has rebuilt them to the top, it is a nagging subject starting to gnaw away at the seams.

Mikel Arteta and Erik ten Hag trophy conundrum

If you ask any fan which position they’d rather be in, with the options of Arsenal or Manchester United, the vast majority would pick the London club.

The same would go for their recent managers, Arteta and Erik ten Hag, but there is still a big debate over which has been more successful.

While the Arsenal head coach has returned the side to the top, consistently challenging for the biggest prizes, he has yet to land that statement trophy since his FA Cup success in 2020.

Ten Hag, by comparison, has left Man United floundering in mid-table but with an EFL Cup and FA Cup to his name.

It’s a stark contrast between two teams at different ends of success, but it does bring up the question of how you measure that success.

For Arsenal, what is a success this season? If it’s finally winning some silverware, then Arteta cannot afford to fall short.

But the story of Ten Hag and Man United is one to be cautious of, for you can have plenty of success in one sense without progressing the club in another.
