Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira is one of the greatest midfielders football has ever seen.
The Frenchman had absolutely everything in his game. He was strong, physically dominant in duels, technical on the ball and could score and create goals.
To add to that, Vieira was as good a leader as any and led Arsenal to multiple trophies.
Now, the World Cup winner has showered praise on another midfielder who is said to be a target for the Gunners this summer – Manu Kone.
Imagine you are Andrea Berta. Who is your top target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window?
Patrick Vieira says Arsenal target Manu Kone is the best midfielder in France
Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Kone from AS Roma this summer.
The Frenchman has been really impressive in the Serie A over the last 12 months, and he even made it to Didier Deschamps’ Les Bleus side for the World Cup.
Patrick Vieira, who knows a thing or two about being a world-class midfielder, has delivered his verdict on the 25-year-old.
The Arsenal legend feels Kone is actually France’s best midfielder and is even better than other big names like Aurelien Tchouameni, Adrien Rabiot and Eduardo Camavinga.
Vieira said on ITV, as per The Metro: “He has come into the World Cup with a couple of injuries and it has been quite a difficult season for him.
“But he is, for me, the best midfielder in France today. I would put him ahead of Aurelien Tchouameni and Adrien Rabiot because he has got this mobility to move around the pitch.”

Manu Kone will not cost Arsenal a fortune
Arsenal have been linked with several big-name midfielders over the last few weeks.
Newcastle duo Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali are on the radar, as are Bournemouth’s Alex Scott and Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi.
All of them will cost significant money, but Kone’s price tag is much lower.
Reports have claimed that Roma could let him go for a fee between €40-50 million (£34.5-43m), which is easily affordable for Arsenal in today’s market.
Whether they will sign him over their other options, however, remains to be seen.
