The Premier League title race is coming to an end, and Arsenal and Manchester City are both still fighting for the biggest prize in English football.

The Gunners are the favourites to go all the way because they have a two-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s side at the top of the table.

If Arsenal win their next two games, the Premier League title is theirs, irrespective of what Manchester City do in their remaining fixtures.

However, Paul Merson says he has a ‘strange feeling’ that Arsenal’s coronation could happen early.

This is our predicted Arsenal XI vs Burnley. What changes would you make?

Paul Merson thinks Manchester City will drop points vs Bournemouth, thus handing the Premier League to Arsenal

Arsenal’s remaining fixtures are against Burnley at home and Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on the final day of the season.

Manchester City, on the other hand, play Bournemouth away on Tuesday night before finishing the campaign at home against Aston Villa.

Arsenal will not be able to lift the Premier League title at the Emirates on Monday, but they could officially be crowned the champions on Tuesday night should City drop points.

Merson has claimed that he has a strange feeling that will happen.

He wrote on Sportskeeda: “I can’t see Manchester City winning it from here, though. I simply don’t believe Arsenal will drop points, and I don’t even think City can capitalise on it if the Gunners slipped up.

“I don’t see anything but Arsenal winning the title from here.

“And I have a strange feeling that this game (Bournemouth vs Manchester City) will be a draw. Bournemouth are a very underrated team, and they play some good football.”

Arsenal posted this immediately after Manchester City won the FA Cup. Coincidence or mind games?

Arsenal just need to do their job

Manchester City dropping points will certainly make things easier for Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta and the players should not be thinking about that.

The Gunners have it all in their own hands, so they should not be relying on anyone else.

We’re sure Arteta will be telling his players constantly that they simply have to win their final two Premier League games against Burnley and Palace.

Once that is done and the Premier League is secured, the Gunners can use the win as fuel to beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.

It’s all easier said than done, but Arsenal need to believe that they are capable of doing it.
