And speaking to the Evening Standard, Guardiola was asked about the likes of Arsenal and their place in the title race, with the City manager admitting he is not focused on the Gunners or any other competing side.

Having beaten Manchester United this weekend, City are starting to look like their usual best that has helped Guardiola win five Premier League titles in the last six years, a record that could easily be extended this season.

Yet when asked about rival clubs, Guardiola admitted that he isn’t interested in paying attention to the likes of Arsenal, who could this time best the Cityzens in the Premier League title race.

Guardiola said: “It is about us. We can’t control what Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa or the other contenders do. This team is legendary. Still we are here, making our people happy all around the world.”

Indeed, Arsenal have a point to prove this season and will want to beat City to the title having fallen short last year, and optimism is high that Arteta can do just that.
