Journalist Charles Watts has now encouraged Arsenal to strike a deal to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto.
Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Pedro Neto for some time.
The Wolves attacker has been in sensational form so far this season. With 19 appearances this season now under his belt, across all competitions, the Portuguese ace has scored 3 goals and racked up 11 assists.
The 23-year-old is a true creative force, and is able to use his flair, pace, and vision to unlock defences. He will be expected to add more goals to his game as his career goes on, but he is already producing an excellent level of end product.
It is easy to see why Mikel Arteta is keen to bring the player to the Emirates Stadium. However, whilst Wolves were originally thought to want £60 million for Neto they are showing no signs of wanting to join Arsenal at the negotiation table.
However, Charles Watts is keen to see Arsenal push for his signature. Speaking on his Inside Arsenal YouTube channel, the reporter was gushing in his praise of Neto, highlighting what a huge impact he could have at the north London club.
Watts said, “I’m a really big Pedro Neto fan. The more this season is going on, the more I’m watching him, the more I think he’s perfect for Arsenal. He can play on the right, he can play on the left, he’s got that out-and-out searing pace…He’s good with both feet, really clever player. I just think he’s the sort of player Arsenal need this summer to really take the squad to another level. You can bring him into the starting line-up. You can rest Saka and Martinelli, and the level just doesn’t drop. He’s that good.”

Pedro Neto can push Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli at Arsenal
Arteta’s squad currently lacks a natural back up option for Bukayo Saka. Reiss Nelson is often used from the bench in the 22-year-old’s place, but he cannot accurately replicate Saka’s tactical function on the pitch as a right-footer. Like Saka, Neto is left-footed and generally plays on the right flank, meaning he can cut inside in the same fashion that the Arsenal man does.
Neto can also play on the left, though. With Leandro Trossard currently thriving in a central role for Arsenal, there may well now be a lack of cover and competition for Gabriel Martinelli on that side of the pitch. Neto can provide this.
Few players would be capable of pushing either Saka or Martinelli for their starting berths at Arsenal, but Neto would present a welcome challenge to both players. Even if he remains behind them in the pecking order, as a rotation option for either player he would still enjoy plenty of game time at Arsenal and have chances to make a significant impact.
