Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas appears to have returned to North London and was spotted working with our under-18s boss, Jack Wilshere.
The Spaniard spent eight years as a Gunner and was even our skipper. He was a fan favourite during his time here and even after he left, but he did ruffle a few feathers when he went and joined Chelsea in 2014.
However, it looks like Arsenal have opened the doors for him to get some coaching experience, where he’s reunited with Wilshere.

Cesc Fabregas spotted back at Arsenal and Wilshere sends him a message
It’s been a while since we saw Fabregas in action on the pitch, but the Spaniard, even though he’s 35 now, hasn’t yet hung up his boots. He plays his football at Como, a second-division Italian side he has invested in along with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
It’s clear that Fabregas is nearing the end of his career, and being a football man, it looks like he’s dipping his toes into becoming a manager one day.
Wilshere, who has just stepped into management with the Arsenal under-18s, took to Instagram yesterday and posted a picture of himself alongside Fabregas at Arsenal’s training centre.
He hailed the Spaniard and thanked him for allowing him to pick his brain about the game.
He wrote: “Learning from the best football brain I know!
“As a player I wish I had the chance to play with this guy for longer but having the chance to pick his brain about certain situations and how he thinks about the game is invaluable. Thank you @cescf4bregas.”
Fabregas replied: “Thanks for helping me out man. You are the best!”
TBR View:
Wilshere has only just started his management journey, while Fabregas is still a few steps behind him. However, the one thing they share in common is their love for the game and intelligence on the football pitch.
The Englishman has had his ups and downs with the Arsenal U18s this season, but that’s normal at this stage of his career. Every day is a new lesson, and if he sticks by it, he will surely improve.
Fabregas, on the other hand, has been mentoring younger players for a while now. He did that at Monaco and he’s doing that at Como now, and there’s little doubt about the fact that he’ll get into coaching very soon.
It will be interesting to see if Arsenal will give Fabregas an opportunity to become a coach of one our youth teams when he decides to hang up his boots.
