Arsenal proved to be the best club in North London yet again after beating Tottenham Hotspur in their own backyard.
The Gunners were nowhere near their strongest level going into the game. Seven Arsenal players were unavailable for the North London Derby, and that made them weaker.
However, Spurs were still no match for Mikel Arteta’s side, and a bullet header from Gabriel Magalhaes was enough to seal the win.
Now, Piers Morgan has had a pop at Tottenham, and we agree with him.
Piers Morgan has a new name for Tottenham after Arsenal’s North London Derby win
Arsenal have now won three consecutive games at Tottenham’s Stadium for the first time in 36 years – the last time that happened was in 1988, when George Graham was in charge.
That is a very impressive achievement from Arteta, especially considering that even the club’s greatest-ever manager, Arsene Wenger, never managed to do it.
Arsenal are now at a level where they are capable of beating any club anywhere. No away trip intimidates this Gunners side – especially not Tottenham.
After beating Spurs three times in a row in their own backyard, Arsenal fans have been celebrating, and Morgan has joined the party too.
The journalist has aimed a dig at Spurs by claiming that Tottenham are actually no longer Arsenal’s rivals – their stadium is just Arteta’s training ground.
He tweeted: “Given that Arsenal have now beaten Spurs in three consecutive Premier League games at their fancy new stadium, I think it’s time to stop calling them our North London rivals.
“They’re our North London training ground.”

Arsenal’s domination against Tottenham: by the numbers
Arsenal have historically always been the bigger club in North London – not Tottenham.
The two clubs have played each other 210 times across different competitions over the years, and the Gunners have won 88 of those fixtures. Spurs, on the other hand, have managed just 67 wins.
Even recently, Arsenal have been the superior side.
Arteta’s men are unbeaten in each of their last five games against Spurs and have only lost one of their last eight – that defeat came all the way back in 2022.
We don’t often agree with Morgan, but he’s right on this occasion. If you just look at the quality on the pitch and not the geography, Tottenham don’t deserve to be called Arsenal’s rivals.
