Arsenal fan Piers Morgan is far from impressed by Kai Havertz.
Kai Havertz endured another difficult afternoon during his time on the pitch against Burnley. Although Arsenal won the match 3-1, the German midfielder will feel that he should have contributed far more.
It was a frustrating outing for the 24-year-old. In the first half, he made smart runs and got into some dangerous areas, only to let himself down in the final action. He had a free header from a corner which he sent over the bar, and some loose touches in the box saw some promising situations for Havertz come to nothing.
This has been the trend for Havertz at Arsenal since his £65 million arrival at the Emirates Stadium from Chelsea in the recent summer transfer window. In 19 appearances for the north London club to date, Havertz has managed to contribute one goal and one assist.
Given the size of the fee Arsenal invested in the player, Mikel Arteta will have wanted far more from Havertz by this stage.

Kai Havertz needs to step up soon
Signed to replace Granit Xhaka in the left-eight role, Havertz has failed to replicate the Swiss midfielder’s ability to make an impact in the final third. The former Chelsea man has looked woefully short on confidence in front of goal. It has now been suggested that Declan Rice could establish himself as the first choice left-eight ahead of Havertz.
The pressure is growing on Havertz to up his game soon. However, Piers Morgan feels that the 40-cap Germany international is in fact heading in the other direction. Taking to Twitter, Morgan said, “Havertz is getting worse.”
Arteta recently claimed that Havertz has been one of Arsenal’s best players in recent weeks. However, it would be hard to argue that the player is living up to his price tag. Improvement is needed, and fast.
