Piers Morgan tears into ‘most arrogant player in the league’ after Man City vs Arsenal draw

There were many feisty moments during Arsenal’s recent draw against Manchester City in the Premier League.

The two best sides in English football faced each other in what was a huge game for both of them, but there was controversy right from the first minute.

Erling Haaland gave City the lead before Arsenal scored twice through Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhaes to put their side ahead.

The game changed when Leandro Trossard was sent off just before half-time. Arsenal defended magnificently for most of the second half, but a last-minute John Stones goal levelled the score and broke the Gunners’ hearts.

There were a lot of arguments on the pitch just before and after the full-time whistle, and Haaland was in the middle of it all.

Piers Morgan blasts Erling Haaland after what he did during Manchester City vs Arsenal

Haaland went into the game against Arsenal with a point to prove because William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes silenced him in each of their last three meetings.

The Norway international is perhaps the best striker in world football, but in the 2023/24 season, he didn’t get a sniff of goal because of the brilliance of the Arsenal defenders.

However, at the Etihad on Sunday, Haaland managed to score early on and he probably thought that would win Manchester City the game.

However, Arsenal fought back, took the lead and showed immense quality in defence that kept City away from the goal until the final minute of the game.

That seemed to annoy Haaland, who was having a go at everyone he could find. He barged into Thomas Partey, had a verbal spat with Gabriel and even decided to have a go at young Myles Lewis-Skelly, who is only 17 years old.

To add to that, Haaland even had the audacity to tell Mikel Arteta to ‘stay humble’, which was just ridiculous and completely unnecessary.

Piers Morgan was far from happy with Haaland’s behaviour and branded the Manchester City forward as the ‘most arrogant’ player in the Premier League right now.

Reacting to what he said to Arteta, Morgan tweeted: “Humility lectures from the most arrogant player in the League who nastily belittled 17-year-old Lewis-Skelly, and cowardly hurled a ball at the back of Gabriel’s head.

“Pipe down Erling Haaland, you nasty piece of work!”

Manchester City’s behaviour against Arsenal proves one thing

Some of the comments coming out of the Manchester City camp are ludicrous.

Bernardo Silva had a go at Arsenal for not taking them on ‘face to face’, while his City teammate Stones accused Arsenal of being dirty.

We don’t know what they wanted the Gunners to do after taking the lead and going down to 10 men – go all-out attack and leave space behind for City to exploit?

All the comments from players at Manchester City prove that Arsenal have got under their skin and they are truly rattled.

They know they cannot bully Arsenal anymore, and after getting close in the Premier League title race in each of the last two seasons, City are afraid that their dominance is about to end.
