Early team news
According to reports Arsenal are looking to give starts to Lucas Perez, Kieran Gibbs, David Ospina and Gabriel in the FA Cup quarter final against non-league side Lincoln City. Jeff Reine-Adelaide should have a place on the bench probably alongside Alexis Sanchez, who was on the bench in the last round against Sutton United. The club need to bounce back with an impressive win and performance against Lincoln. Still no news on how #sickgate is progressing within the club or if they now have it under control. For the clubs sake lets hope its all cleared up.
More protest
Reports in a few newspapers are reporting that another protest has been scheduled before the match against Lincoln. The protest once again will be aimed at Arsene Wenger leaving the club and not signing a new contract in the summer. Supporters who want Wenger out feel that since the Frenchman has admitted that the fans views will be taken into account, that continuing their protests could yet force his hand to leave. Watch this space.
Wenger’s next move
One idea doing the rounds is Arsene Wenger joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer. The French club have tried on three occasions to bring Wenger to Paris but each time they were knocked back. However, with circumstances now much more different, it could be the perfect answer for the Frenchman.
Arsenal targets
Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette continues to impress after his screamer for Lyon against Roma in the Europa League. It comes to something that a non-Arsenal player is the only thing exciting the fans currently. Another Arsenal target, Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe was subject to an Arsenal bid in the summer, according to Arsene Wenger. Reports vary on the amount offered for the 18-year-old, but according to Wenger, Mbappe reminds him of a young Thierry Henry with the same intelligent movements and cat like finishing. High praise indeed. Mbappe has scored 15 goals this season and assisted 10 in 29 appearances for Monaco this season.
Sanchez and Ozil update
Well it’s almost a daily occurrence now, whether it’s contract talks or rumours of going to another club. Today is all about Ozil potentially going to Bayern Munich and Sanchez wanted by Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Juventus. Who knows where they may end up but my view is, if they don’t want to sign a new contract, sell them in the summer and get as much money as possible and start again.
FIFA President
It comes to something when the FIFA President Gianni Infantino is asked about his views on Arsene Wenger. Infantino even joked that Wenger’s name is almost Arsenal as in Arsene and something about his name linked for eternity. It was certainly a strange question to ask, but clearly the FIFA president is ‘Arsene In’, labelling the Frenchman a football legend.
