Arsenal take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League at the Emirates.
The Gunners returned to winning ways in the Premier League, picking up an impressive 4-2 victory over Leicester City on Saturday.
Now, the focus turns to Europe’s most prestigious club competition, and Mikel Arteta would want nothing more than to get his first win in the Champions League this season after the draw against Atalanta in Arsenal’s opening fixture.
Luis Enrique’s PSG have arrived in London, and the manager of the French league champions appears to be a big fan of one Arsenal man.
Luis Enrique delivers honest verdict on Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta
Arteta has truly transformed Arsenal over the last four-and-a-half years.
The Spaniard took charge of the club in December 2019 and things weren’t great at the time. The Gunners’ squad wasn’t good, the atmosphere around the club was toxic and there just wasn’t any connection between the team and the fans.
Arteta identified that very quickly, and began working on it from day one. It took quite a while, but it’s safe to say now that the Arsenal manager has achieved some of his early goals.
Up next is winning silverware, and Arsenal are definitely on the right path. Arteta is doing all the right things, and it looks like even Enrique is a big fan of him.
The former Barcelona manager, who is currently at the helm at PSG, was asked about Arteta in his press conference on Monday.
The two Spaniards were actually teammates many, many years ago, and Enrique is delighted to see how far Arteta has come since.
He said, as per GFFN: “I have good memories of him as a teammate. He had a very complete playing career, one that ended very successfully, and his managerial one has begun in similar fashion.”
“We haven’t faced each other yet as managers, but it will be good to speak with him, even if it’s just for five minutes before the match.
“He’s one of the best managers on the market right now, he’s turned Arsenal into a club that competes for titles again. He’s a great manager and a great person.”

Arsenal’s all-time record vs PSG
Arsenal and PSG are among the biggest names in world football, and they are both really, really strong.
The Parisiens are still chasing their dream of winning the Champions League, but despite spending all that money, they haven’t been able to achieve that.
Arsenal haven’t won the Champions League either, and Arteta would love nothing more than to go all the way in Europe in the coming months.
The focus now is on PSG, and Arsenal’s record against the French side should give the players a lot of confidence going into the game.
Arsenal and PSG have faced each other on four occasions over the years and the Gunners have never lost. They have won one and drawn three.
If the North Londoners can get all three points on Tuesday night, Arteta will become the first Arsenal manager to beat PSG in the Champions League.
