Mikel Arteta has a number of selection dilemmas heading into a huge clash at Anfield.
Arsenal and Liverpool both have a 100% record heading into the Premier League clash and there is a feeling that this is a huge chance to lay down an early marker in the title race.
Bukayo Saka will miss up to a month with a hamstring injury, whilst there are also doubts over whether Martin Odegaard will be fit for the trip.
It leaves Arteta with a number of decisions to make over his starting line-up but the Gunners boss has been told by one pundit that they can’t believe he is overlooking one Arsenal star in particular.

Lianne Sanderson ‘surprised’ that Myles Lewis-Skelly has been dropped by Mikel Arteta
Speaking on the latest episode of talkSPORT’s ‘Premier League All Access’ podcast, pundit Lianne Sanderson has expressed her shock over the treatment of Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The Hale End star was phenomenal for the Gunners last season but is yet to start a match this season with Arteta preferring Riccardo Calafiori at left back.
Sanderson stated: “What if you can get quality in and get the quality? And I mean, Lewis-Skelly hasn’t started this season yet, which is quite a surprise, I would say. Quite a surprise.”
Lewis-Skelly was labelled as ‘brilliant’ by former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke and signed a new contract in the summer.
However, it seems that Arteta is slowly integrating him into the side this season and there are thoughts that the 18-year-old could even feature in midfield more.
Meanwhile, Sanderson has also praised new signings Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres for their starts to their Arsenal careers.
Sanderson explained: “I like Zubimendi. I think he’s a decent player. Gyokeres, like I said, I think they’re still getting used to playing with a number nine because they haven’t been used to it.”
Myles Lewis-Skelly could have a transitional season at Arsenal
It appears that Calafiori has been given the vote of confidence at left back at the start of the campaign and Lewis-Skelly may have to settle for a squad role.
The 18-year-old is likely to have played more football than the club would have wanted last season due to injury problems and it may be more of a transitional season for Lewis-Skelly.

| Lewis-Skelly | 39 | 1 | 2 |
The arrival of Piero Hincapie could force Lewis-Skelly into midfield and Arteta may be planning a season of learning and development for the youngster.
That doesn’t mean he won’t have opportunities to play in the cup competitions and as a rotation option, however, it may not be the starring role that many expected for Lewis-Skelly this season.
