Raheem Sterling has been welcomed to Arsenal with open arms following his deadline day transfer from Chelsea.

The winger joined Mikel Arteta’s project in the dying embers of deadline day, completing a deal to spend the 2024/25 campaign on loan in North London.

It was a difficult summer for the Englishman, who after playing a part in Chelsea’s pre-season, was axed by Enzo Maresca, seeing his squad number passed on.

Maresca made it publicly known that he didn’t want Sterling at the club, allowing Arsenal to capitalise on the 29-year-old’s transfer situation.

After seeing his Chelsea career taken out of his control, Sterling made the decision to join Arsenal to make an impact in Arteta’s project.

The pair worked together at Manchester City and could now see their partnership kickstart at the Emirates.

Arsenal fans are certainly happy with Edu’s deadline day capture of the England international, with one fan crafting a video to celebrate the winger’s arrival in North London.

Content creator CTTMedia put together a clip of the low and high points of Sterling’s career, focusing on the negative publicity the 29-year-old has battled.

Arsenal’s new number 30 clearly appreciated the video, commenting on CTTMedia’s Instagram post, “Yeah cold.”

The video was captioned ‘Raheem Sterling, point to prove’, with the magnificently edited clip opening with Maresca’s public comment on the forward as he said, “I prefer different kinds of wingers.”

Sterling can become a fan favourite at Arsenal

Sterling has overcome a wave of unfair adversity during his playing career, with the apology needing to be louder than the disrespect the winger has received.

At Arsenal, it seems as though the Englishman could find a place to call home after a difficult summer in West London, with fans overjoyed to have the four-time Premier League winner at the club.

Supporters were impressed by Sterling in training, as Arsenal’s media team posted a video of the winger putting in the work in club colours for the first time.

Given the 29-year-old’s reaction to the fan-made ‘point to prove’ video and his early application in training, fans should be very excited by what’s to come from the Premier League star.
