Riccardo Calafiori has quickly settled at Arsenal.

Arsenal signed Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna in the recent summer transfer window.

The Italian defender has not taken long to make a positive impression in North London.

Arsenal fans have been impressed by Calafiori, who really announced his arrival at the club with a spectacular strike from range against Manchester City.

Since then, he has caught the eye with his attacking intent, willingness to push forward and take up aggressive positions, and the committed nature of his defending. Calafiori and Gabriel Martinelli have also struck up an effective partnership on the pitch, helping the Brazilian winger to rediscover his best form.

Mikel Arteta will be delighted with the impact that Calafiori has made, and there is still plenty more to come from the 22-year-old, who is still gaining experience and coming to terms with the demands and challenges of the Premier League.

Riccardo Calafiori admits envy of Arsenal teammate Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus, meanwhile, has not enjoyed such an exciting start to the new season.

The former Manchester City man has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, and looks bereft of confidence in front of goal.

Arsenal fans have taken aim at Jesus recently.

However, when it comes to one matter off the pitch, Calafiori has confessed he is somewhat jealous of the Brazilian.

In a video clip shared by the official Arsenal X account, the Italy international was asked which club teammate he’d love to “swap” hairstyles with.

Calafiori replied: “I would say it would have been Gabby, when he had his braids, but he doesn’t have them anymore… I will say Gabby.”

What Mikel Arteta needs from Jesus now

The Gunners desperately need Jesus to rediscover some form, as there is currently such a burden on Kai Havertz to lead the line.

The German forward has been in magnificent form so far this season, but given how intense the fixture schedule is set to become, Arteta needs Jesus to step up and offer greater support.

Alternatively, the Spanish coach must consider investing in a striker in the upcoming January transfer window. Arsenal could revive their interest in Benjamin Sesko, who they are still keeping tabs on.
