Rio Ferdinand believes Arsenal have a potentially special player on their hands in Gabriel Martinelli.
The Brazilian is now back in the picture for the Gunners after injuring his knee in pre-season.
Arsenal have struggled in his absence this season, with goalscoring a real issue in particular.
Martinelli’s return has brought great relief to many Arsenal fans, with the South American already impressing against Everton, Manchester City in the EFL Cup and Chelsea at the weekend.
The £6 million star’s (Telegraph) showing against the Blues has prompted Ferdinand to make a big prediction about the 19-year-old.
He said on the FIVE YouTube channel: “Martinelli, I have to say, is going to be a tremendous footballer. A top, top player. He’s come back into this team and he is showing what all the fuss was about before.
“He is going to be a huge, huge player. Massive talent, and I’m just hoping he can stay fit.”
Ferdinand also added that he believes Martinelli and Bukayo Saka will form a ‘scary’ partnership in the years to come.
