Robert Pires says Arsenal had a forward who was actually better than Thierry Henry at three things

Thierry Henry is Arsenal’s greatest-ever player.

The legendary Frenchman is the club’s highest scorer of all time, and he was one of the key reasons why Arsenal were so successful during his time in North London.

Henry was the superstar that every defender feared back then, but he wasn’t the only player who was capable of winning games for the Gunners.

Arsenal Invincible Robert Pires has named one player who was even better than Henry at certain things.

Robert Pires names three things Dennis Bergkamp was better at than Thierry Henry

Dennis Bergkamp was Arsenal’s superstar before Henry.

The Dutchman was arguably the Gunners’ best player when Arsene Wenger took charge of the club, and he raised the level of everyone around him.

Bergkamp could do things on the pitch that most other players could only dream of. He was an unbelievable player, someone who left everyone who watched him in awe.

Henry is most fans’ favourite player, but Pires loved playing with Bergkamp too.

The Frenchman has now named the three things that Bergkamp was better at than Henry – he was better on the ball, better at creating chances and also better at scoring great goals.

Pires said about Bergkamp on John Obi Mikel’s podcast: “He’s a genius! He is, for me, was like a maestro. For me, I repeat again, when I talk about technique, this guy, he was one of the best I used to play (with). And for me, a midfielder, it was a privilege to play with him.

“Thierry Henry is the other category, other planet, because, you know he was very, very good but different – not like Dennis Bergkamp.

“Dennis Bergkamp, with the ball, to create something, to score the great goals like against Newcastle, yeah he is the best.”

Henry shared the dressing room with Messi and he knows exactly how good the Inter Miami man is. However, the Frenchman rates Bergkamp even higher.

When asked by CBS Sports to name the best player he has ever played with, Henry picked Bergkamp. Kate Abdo put Messi’s name in front of him, but he refused to change his answer.

That should tell you how good Bergkamp was.
