Saka makes Eddie Nketiah prediction after Arsenal beat Fulham 2-1

Arsenal came from behind to secure an impressive 2-1 win over Fulham this evening, and Bukayo Saka was very impressed with Eddie Nketiah‘s second-half cameo.

Despite dominating the game in the first half, Arsenal went into the break with the scores level. In the second half, Gabriel Magalhaes gifted Aleksandar Mitrovic a goal, and it looked like one of those days at that point.

Mikel Arteta’s men showed a lot of character after we conceded. Martin Odegaard and the man who made the mistake, Gabriel, scored to get us the win, but Saka was more impressed by super-sub Nketiah, who was only on the pitch for about 30 minutes.

Nketiah replaced Kieran Tierney in the 61st minute and he caused Fulham all sorts of problems. He could’ve easily scored a couple of goals, but even without it, he caught Saka’s eye.

The 20-year-old hailed Nketiah after the game and predicted that the striker will score a lot of goals this season.

Saka told BBC Sport: “We had to be patient. Credit to Fulham, they made it difficult for us. In the end, we got the result we wanted, so we’re happy.

“Eddie Nketiah made a real difference for us. I’m happy with his contribution and I’m sure he’ll score a lot of goals for us this season.”

The Insider’s View:

Arsenal were all over Fulham in the first half. We were undoubtedly the better side, but for whatever reason, we just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.

Arteta had to change something and he brought Nketiah on. The Englishman’s directness really troubled Fulham. They just couldn’t deal with him, but sadly, he could not get himself on the score sheet.

Gabriel Jesus is our main man up top and that won’t change. However, we have a very good backup in Nketiah, and he proved to everyone today that he can make a difference when required.

Arsenal face Aston Villa on Wednesday, and it will be interesting to see if Arteta will give Jesus a breather and hand Nketiah a start as a reward for his fantastic cameo today.
