Arsenal defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes started against Everton last night despite the little altercation they had on the pitch a few days ago.

Mikel Arteta’s men picked up a hugely impressive 4-0 victory over the Toffees yesterday. A brace from Gabriel Martinelli and goals from Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard gave us the three points, but Gabriel and Saliba were brilliant too.

It now looks like the duo has resolved their issues.

Before our game last night, Arsenal travelled to Leicester City to take on the Foxes on Saturday.

The Gunners won that game 1-0, but Gabriel Magalhaes was far from happy with William Saliba at the end of the game because of something that happened before the final whistle was blown.

The two were spotted having a heated exchange of words, before Saliba pushed the Brazilian away from him and walked off.

Mikel Arteta played down the bust-up in his pre-match press conference by calling the two defenders’ relationship ‘a happy marriage.’ That certainly looks to be the case.

Saliba and Gabriel started and performed brilliantly against Everton at the Emirates last night, and the Frenchman even hailed his centre-back partner on Instagram with a wordless tweet.

The 21-year-old commented two emojis of bricks, suggesting that Gabriel was solid next to him throughout the game.

The Insider’s View:

It appears like the little spat Saliba and Gabriel had last weekend has been resolved.

The two defenders have arguably been the best centre-halves in the entire Premier League this season. Their partnership is one of the biggest reasons why we are on top of the table, and they showed their class again last night.

Some Arsenal fans were a bit concerned about Saliba and Gabriel’s altercation last weekend, but there’s nothing to worry about now – they seem perfectly fine with each other.

Arsenal take on Bournemouth in the Premier League next and Saliba and Gabriel are both expected to start.
