Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla are among the best players to have played for Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium era.
The German became Arsenal’s record signing when Arsene Wenger brought him to the Emirates Stadium from Real Madrid back in the summer of 2013.
Cazorla arrived at Arsenal a year earlier, but both players shared an exceptional relationship with each other on and off the pitch.
Now, Cazorla has shown Ozil some love after seeing the latter share his memories about playing for Arsenal.
Mesut Ozil posts a brilliant montage about his time at Arsenal
Ozil’s time at Arsenal was an eventful one.
The former Germany international joined the club when they were on a trophy drought, but he ended that in his very first season.
He won two more under Wenger and played one game in Mikel Arteta’s run to win the FA Cup in his first season as Arsenal’s head coach.
Ozil’s time at Arsenal did not end well, but he is still very fondly remembered by many sections of the Arsenal fan base for everything he did for the club.
The 36-year-old has a lot of love for Arsenal too, and the montage he has released on his social channels proves his affection for the Gunners.
In a five-slide video, Ozil says: “A new home: Arriving in London and signing for Arsenal marked the beginning of a new journey – one filled with passion, expectation and the challenge of Premier League football.
“The playermaker’s touch: Every touch, every chance created and every moment on the pitch was about elevating my team and bringing magic to English football.
“Glory in Red and White: Lifting my first trophy at Wembley in an Arsenal shirt was an unforgettable moment – one that fueled my hunger for even more success in the Premier League.
“Rising to the occasion: From intense Premier League battles to unforgettable European nights, I embraced every challenge and gave my all for the club and the city.
“A bond that lasts: Every match, every memory and the connection with Arsenal fans across London and beyond became a part of my story – one that will stay with me forever!”
Santi Cazorla sends message to Mesut Ozil
Ozil divided opinion during his time at Arsenal, but the one thing nobody can deny was the fact that he was an exceptional attacking midfielder.
Every player at Arsenal knew how good he was, including Cazorla, who was absolutely phenomenal himself.
Reacting to Ozil’s post about his time at Arsenal on Instagram, Cazorla replied: “What a player!”
Former Arsenal stars Kieran Gibbs and Bacary Sagna also showed Ozil some love, while the club’s chief photographer Stuart McFarlane commented: “Was lovely having you with us!”
