Arsenal legend David Seaman is concerned at the club’s recent trophy drought, and has suggested that the Gunners need to get more ruthless.
The former England goalkeeper has praised the style of play adopted by Arsene Wenger, but believes winning something might have to take the priority over pretty football.
Seaman says that when he joined the club, the approach was different, and despite not playing great football, Arsenal were winning trophies more regularly.
“The manager’s done great there,” he said. “But Arsenal is a club that should be winning trophies – when I joined we were expected to win trophies.
“The way we did it wasn’t the best football in the world, but at the moment Arsenal can play the best football in the world but they don’t win anything.
“It’s about getting that fine balance of effective football as well as playing some great football.
“It’s time for them to start winning trophies and I am sure every Arsenal fan is desperate for that.”
