Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman spoke to TalkSport about Arsenal’s next managerial selection.
The Gunners parted ways with Unai Emery on Friday and are yet to decide on his replacement. Freddie Ljungberg has taken temporary charge and led Arsenal to a 2-2 draw against Norwich in his first game.
Ljungberg is unlikely to get the permanent job at this point as Arsenal continue their hunt for a new manager. Speaking about the next Gunners boss, David Seaman threw a big name into the hat on TalkSport.
He said: “The name that I keep going back to now is Poch. If you asked the players if they would take him now and I bet you a good 90% of them would say yes.”
Pochettino to Arsenal would arguably be the most controversial move since Sol Campbell did the same over a decade and a half ago. In ways, this would hurt Spurs fans more considering how the Argentine helped them grow as club over the last five years.
However, it is unlikely that the former Saints boss would risk ruining the relationship that he has with Spurs fans. Arsenal would have to look elsewhere to find Emery’s successor but if they can somehow pull off the deal and if Pochettino manages to win a trophy with us after failing to win one with them, we’d have bragging rights for at least a decade.
