Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has now been providing some insight to Arsenal’s transfer plans and Ethan Nwaneri’s first team path.

Mikel Arteta will have his full focus on the opportunity to win two historic trophies for Arsenal at the ‘business end’ of the season, but may have also afforded some time for transfer planning during the international break.

Edu Gaspar seems to have a very productive relationship with the Arsenal boss, and will be looking to repeat last year’s success, signing Declan Rice right under Manchester City’s noses.

Perhaps a striker will still be the biggest priority, but with only Victor Osimhen capturing excitement in that regard right now, Arsenal could easily direct their money elsewhere.

Sporting CP centre-back Ousmane Diomande appears to remain of interest, and could prove a smart addition to the club’s defensive ranks.

Elsewhere, perhaps we could also see heavy investment in a midfielder, with long-term links to Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

All that being said, Dharmesh Sheth has been explaining how Arsenal’s exciting youth players fit into all of these plans.

Ethan Nwaneri will wait for his chance as Arsenal plan big transfer moves

Speaking to GiveMeSport, the journalist mentioned Ethan Nwaneri’s name, perhaps a player fans would like to see promoted instead of a new player coming in.

And the same could be said of Myles Lewis-Skelly, who’s now envisioned in an inverted role at full-back.

Sheth said Arsenal plan to stay patient with those sorts of youngsters in the summer, and will instead go ‘big’ in the transfer market.

He explained: “The pressure on players coming through the academy is enormous because clubs almost want instant success.

“The recruitment team and the manager then decide how to blood these players.

“Nwaneri, who made his debut in 2022, is a player they consider to have a big future at Arsenal.

“Still, they’ve got to be careful in his development and blood him in very slowly so that he can integrate with the first team before putting all that pressure on him.

“So, I think Arsenal will be excited with what they have, but alongside that, make no mistake, they’ll be going big in the market as well.”

When will Ethan Nwaneri get his Arsenal chance?

Perhaps Arsenal have plans to find a loan for 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri in the summer.

Even if it’s just six-months of senior football in the Championship or League One, it could certainly help the midfielder prepare to shine at the Emirates in the future.

Amid all the progress Arsenal are making, it’s an understandable concern among fans that Hale End graduates aren’t getting the chances they once were.

But those same fans should rest assured that Arteta has a plan to continue the club’s rich link to the academy.

All that being said, Kyle Walker admitted he’s been amazed by the progress one Arsenal youngster has made of late
