Arsenal legend Kolo Toure has claimed that Bukayo Saka would get into the Invincibles team ahead of Freddie Ljungberg.
Arsene Wenger‘s 2003/04 side is one of the greatest teams ever assembled. Those players cemented themselves as Arsenal legends by going an entire Premier League season unbeaten, and Ljungberg was a key part of that side. Toure, however, says he would swap the Swede for Saka.
Kolo Toure says Bukayo Saka would get into the Arsenal Invincibles side
The Arsenal Invincibles will always have a special place in history, and every player who contributed to that squad’s success will forever be remembered.
The regular starting lineup, in particular, had everything.
Jens Lehmann was incredible in goal, while our back four of Lauren, Kolo Toure, Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole were easily the best in the country.
Patrick Vieira and Gilberto Silva in the middle of the park were absolutely unreal for us, as were our front four of Robert Pires, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, and Freddie Ljungberg.
It’s hard to replace any of the above players, but Toure, who knows all of them better than us, believes Bukayo Saka would get into the side on the right flank ahead of Ljungberg.
He said on talkSPORT today: “Saka, I would say is really good. He has power and speed.”
When Martin Keown asked who he would replace, Toure replied: “I don’t know! Freddie scored a lot of goals! But Saka would make it because of his speed and power. He’s a really, really good player.”
Saka can become an Arsenal legend
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is definitely the best player Hale End has produced in the last 10 years.
The Englishman has already accomplished so much. Even though he’s still only 22, he has carried us on his own at times, and everybody at the club loves him. Rio Ferdinand even branded him as a ‘ridiculous‘ talent this week.
If Saka spends the majority of his career at Arsenal, if not all of it, he will surely become a legend of the club, just like Henry, Bergkamp and co.
Hopefully, he can help us win multiple trophies just like those guys did back in the day.
