Stan Collymore has picked Arsenal star Bukayo Saka as his Player of the Season ahead of Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.

Saka and Bellingham are arguably the best young players in the world right now, They’re both unbelievable talents, and if England are to win anything in the coming years, they will be key.

Stan Collymore picks Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka as his POTS ahead of Jude Bellingham

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has had a decent start to the new season.

The Gunners’ number seven hasn’t been at his absolute best, but he has still managed to score five goals and provide five assists in all competitions – he was the first player to achieve that feat in Europe’s big five leagues this season.

Jude Bellingham, on the other hand, has been on fire following his big move to Real Madrid in the summer. He has scored 10 goals and provided three assists so far in just 10 appearances, which is an outrageous return for a midfielder.

Collymore had to pick one or the other as his Player of the Season, and to many people’s surprise, he has gone with Saka.

He wrote on CaughtOffside: “Bukayo Saka gets the nod ahead of Jude Bellingham as player of the season so far. The reason I’ve chosen Saka is because he’s not allowed missing the penalty for England, which is only two years ago, to affect him.

Being a particularly young man, a relative rookie, he’s already being thought of as the top man, the game changer at Arsenal and he’s taking that all on board whilst scoring goals and creating chances. Just brilliant.

Mikel Arteta needs to keep Saka fit

Collymore has been a bit generous there, but we’ll take it.

Saka is an exceptional talent. The fact that he has directly contributed to 10 goals this season while being nowhere near his best and possibly even injured more often than not shows just how good he is.

The Englishman now has some time to recover from his hamstring injury after withdrawing from the England squad, and we really need him back to full fitness.

It will be interesting to see if Mikel Arteta will do anything differently to manage his workload once he’s back from his injury, which will hopefully be after the international break.
