Swedish media are suggesting that Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres could be the best striker in the world right now after his goal fired them to the 2026 World Cup.

Gyokeres netted an 88th-minute winner against Poland to send Graham Potter’s team to next summer’s tournament.

Swedish media are suggesting that Viktor Gyokeres could be ‘the best striker in the world right now’ following his winning goal against Poland.

The World Cup qualifier looked set for extra time, but Gyokeres was the quickest to react to a loose ball in the box following a deflection, and he rifled the ball into the back of the net.

The Arsenal star has now netted four goals for Sweden during World Cup qualifying, but his fourth was by far the most important.

Following his goal, the Swedish media have been going crazy for the goalscorer and have reacted to his match-winning performance.
