Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny believes he is currently at the best club in the world, and playing under the best manager in the world.
The Pole was responding to quotes from Bacary Sagna, who had said earlier in the week that he would understand Cesc Fabregas wanting to leave Arsenal to win trophies.
He was also responding to rumours surrounding the future of Arsene Wenger, after a sixth consecutive season without silverware.
He said: “I wouldn’t understand leaving Arsenal, because I believe being at this club is the best thing in the world. So, no, I wouldn’t understand leaving.
“He [Wenger] is the best manager in the world so I don’t understand why anyone would want him to leave. Let’s be patient and show next year we are good enough to win the league.
“We all take individual responsibilities for our mistakes, and everyone has played their part in this season’s disappointments. We just have to take it as a team. You can’t blame the boss because he stood by the team all season and supported us.
“There’s a lot of frustration because we work hard and do our best, and it’s frustrating not to be on the side that wins the championship. But we have showed we have the quality and now it’s a matter of can we step up next season?”
