Jamie Carragher was blown away by Arsenal star Declan Rice’s performance against Crystal Palace last night.
The 24-year-old Englishman donned our colours for only the second time in the Premier League yesterday and he was fantastic. He played a key role in helping us win, and Carragher heaped praise on him while speaking on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.

Jamie Carragher says Declan Rice was Arsenal’s best player vs Crystal Palace
Arsenal were made to work really hard by Crystal Palace last night.
Why Pele Is Overrated.
Roy Hodgson, in typical fashion, set his side out to sit deep, have as many players as possible behind the ball, and hit us on the counter-attack.
Despite their best efforts, Arsenal were the better team for the first 67 minutes, and we deservedly led 1-0 thanks to Martin Odegaard‘s goal.

Things changed, however, after the referee decided to steal the show and send Takehiro Tomiyasu off. That put us on the back foot, and Palace were all over us.
However, every player put their body on the line to help keep our lead, and we deservedly finished the game with our 1-0 scoreline intact.
Speaking after the game, Jamie Carragher raved about Declan Rice.
He said: “He was the best player on the pitch. We said that at half-time and I think that continued in the second half. I thought he was fantastic.”
The Insider’s View:
Declan Rice was absolutely fantastic for Arsenal last night.
All the big-money signings elsewhere in the Premier League seem to be struggling at the moment, but the Englishman took charge of our midfield and was fabulous at Selhurst Park.
Rice deservedly won the Man of the Match award for his performance last night, and the amazing thing now is we all know he will be even better in the coming games.
Arsenal take on Fulham next, and Rice will once again be key. If he has a good game, we should be able to pick up all three points quite comfortably.
