Arsenal have flown out to Girona to increase their pre-season activities and as has become the norm under Mikel Arteta, a number of youngsters have travelled.
Arteta will be using the time in Spain to run the rule over his current squad while also casting an eye on new signing Christos Tzolis.
As for the young players taken to Girona, it’s a chance to show the Arsenal coaching staff just how ready they might be to contribute for next season.
While the likes of Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Max Dowman were always going to be included, there are a number of other fresh faces too.

It’s always an exciting time in pre-season if young players get a chance. We saw last summer how Dowman seized his chance and impressed and a number of others now want to do the same.
Indeed, in a list revealed by the popular AFCStuff account on X, another eight young players have boarded the plane to Spain.
18-year-old Ceadach O’Neill has already got on the scoresheet this pre-season having netted in a 3-0 win over MK Dons this weekend.
As for the rest, this is a real chance to impress and catch the eye of Arteta.
Of those included in this list, Brayden Clarke is arguably the most recognisable of the eight selected.

Clarke – who plays in the centre of defence – is already a Welsh under-19 international and with William Saliba out injured, Clarke might well see a chance to thrust himself into the first-team picture.
Regardless of how things pan out, it’s once again a show of faith from Mikel Arteta in Arsenal’s youth.
