Recent reports have linked Arsenal with a move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

According to The Telegraph, the Gunners are said to be keeping tabs on the centre-forward. It is thought the side are keen on revamping their forward line.

Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have both been linked with exits from the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The former Lyon man has drawn interest from Monaco and his old club. Meanwhile, the north London giants could yet cash in on their club captain.

With regards to incomings, the outfit have been linked with moves for Odsonne Edouard and Euro 2020 star Alexander Isak.

Insider’s View: Calvert-Lewin move makes sense, Arsenal likely to be priced out

On the face of it, a move for Calvert-Lewin would be a great transfer for the Gunners.

He scored 25 goals for club and country last season, the second-highest for an Englishman after Harry Kane. And out of all his strikes, just one of them was a penalty, a sign of his quality.

He also possesses the stature and ability to be a great all-round player for Mikel Arteta. Lacazette has proven to be a great hold-up player and links well with either winger, but, the Englishman is more than a suitable replacement

But with Everton reportedly demanding up to £50m for their star man, it’s a move the Gunners are likely to be priced out of.

The recent Coronavirus pandemic has left a hole in the Gunners’ pockets. Arsenal recorded a loss of £47.8m for the 2019/2020 season after the closure of stadia.

It’s likely to be felt as the transfer window moves on and Arsenal try to sign players.

Calvert-Lewin would be a sensational addition to the club especially for Lacazette. He’s proves to be a younger version of the France international, which is great news for Arteta.

But, his price means the Gunners are likely to be priced out.
