The Champions League group stage is done and dusted, and Arsenal await the round of 16 draw on Monday – there are seven clubs we could face in the next round.

Mikel Arteta‘s men comfortably won the group that featured PSV Eindhoven, Lens and Sevilla. We are through to the knockout stages of the Champions League now, and there are some tricky sides we could be drawn against.

Who Arsenal could face in the Champions League round of 16

Arsenal will be in Pot A in the Champions League round of 16 draw on Monday alongside all the other group winners. We will come up against one of the runners-up apart from PSV as we already faced them in the group stages.

Mikel Arteta‘s men will be looking for a favourable draw, but we should back ourselves against any club if we really want to go far in this competition.

Here are the seven teams Arsenal could be drawn against…

Paris Saint-Germain

The French champions were in the group of death alongside Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Newcastle United in the first round of the competition, and they did struggle.

After just two wins in their six games, they finished second in their group behind Dortmund, and we could be drawn against them on Monday. Kylian Mbappe vs William Saliba is a mouthwatering prospect.

Inter Milan

Inter Milan were in the same group as Real Sociedad, Benfica and RB Salzburg, and many expected them to finish on top quite comfortably. However, Mikel Arteta’s boyhood club pipped them to the top spot on goal difference.

Like PSG, Inter will be a difficult side to face if we’re drawn against them. Alexis Sanchez will also return to the Emirates, which would make things more interesting.

Napoli

Napoli are the third Italian side we could potentially face in the next round of the Champions League, and this will not be an easy fixture.

The Partenopei won the Serie A last season, but they are having a difficult campaign this time around. Arteta will surely back his side to get the win if we’re drawn against them.

Lazio

Lazio finished second in their Champions League group that included Atletico Madrid, Feyenoord and Scottish champions Celtic.

Maurizio Sarri beat us in the Europa League final back in 2019. If we’re drawn against Lazio on Monday, Arsenal will have the chance to get some revenge on the former Chelsea manager.

Porto

The Portuguese giants finished second behind Barcelona in their group which also included Shakhtar Donetsk and Royal Antwerp.

Porto are always a tricky side to face, but the last time we played against them in the Champions League, we battered them 5-0. If we’re drawn against them on Monday, we’d love to see a similar scoreline in the next round.

RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig’s group featured defending champions Manchester City, Swiss side Young Boys and Crvena Zvezda, and there were no surprises there.

Pep Guardiola‘s side topped the group, and Leipzig, who won every game apart from the two against City, finished second. This would be a fun game to watch if we’re drawn against them.

Copenhagen

The final possible draw for us in the next round of the Champions League is FC Copenhagen. The Danish giants shocked everyone and managed to qualify ahead of Manchester United and Galatasaray.

Copenhagen completely embarrassed Erik ten Hag’s side in the group stage. It would be great to see Arsenal batter them, just to show Manchester United that we’re levels above them.
