Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp spoke on his podcast about Arsenal star Thomas Partey.

The Ghanaian joined us from Atletico Madrid in the summer and has had a torrid time due to injuries. However, whenever he has played, he has made the entire team look better, and Arsenal really are lucky to have him.

Redknapp has noticed what Partey brings to the table and has admitted that he likes him.

The former Spurs boss claims that the Ghanaian is no Patrick Vieira, but he believes that the midfielder is the strongest player Arsenal have had in the middle of the park for a long time.

He said: “I like the new guy, Partey. He looks a good player, the boy from Atletico.

“He’s strong, aggressive. He’s not a Vieira obviously, but he looks like the strongest midfield player we’ve seen for a long time at Arsenal. He looks like he’ll be a big bonus.”

Redknapp is right, Partey is brilliant

Partey hasn’t been available all season but whenever he has played, we’ve looked good. He is defensively brilliant, but his best trait is the way he can drive with the ball from his own half into the opposition third.

His assist to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in our win over Newcastle United a few weeks ago showed a completely different side to his game. He repeated the same last night as well, but sadly, Bukayo Saka’s shot rattled off the woodwork.

Partey still doesn’t look like he’s 100% fit. However, he has still been brilliant for us, and Arsenal fans can’t wait to see how good he can be once he is fully ready.
