Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes is one of the best defenders in world football.

The Brazil international has been a Gunner for nearly six years now, and he has got better every single season.

During his time at Arsenal, Gabriel has come up against several incredible players, and he has had success against almost all of them as well.

The best of them all, however, is a player who was once on their own books – Harry Kane.

Where does Gabriel Magalhaes rank amongst the greatest Arsenal centre-backs of the Premier League era?

Gabriel Magalhaes says Harry Kane is the toughest player he has ever faced

Kane was always a big problem for Arsenal when he was at Tottenham Hotspur.

The England captain is still the record goalscorer in North London Derby history, and he even scored against the Gunners as a Bayern Munich player as well.

The most annoying part for Arsenal fans was that Kane was once a part of the club’s academy, but he was deemed not good enough and released.

That came back to bite the Gunners as he developed into arguably the most complete striker of this generation.

Gabriel Magalhaes, who has faced Kane several times in his career, rates him very highly.

In fact, during a Q&A on The Residency App, when the former Lille man was asked to name the best player he has ever played against, he named Kane.

That is very interesting, as many people would’ve expected Gabriel to name his arch-rival, Erling Haaland, as his toughest opponent.

Gabriel Magalhaes may have a psychological advantage in the Champions League final

Gabriel has never been a player who holds himself back against an opponent.

The Arsenal number six plays every game the same way, and that has helped him get the better of several top-class attackers over the years.

Gabriel will approach the Champions League final for Arsenal in the exact same way, but things may have been different if the opponents were Bayern Munich instead of PSG.

Kane would’ve likely been on the Brazilian’s mind if the Germans had made it into the final, but with him no longer a concern, Gabriel may have a psychological advantage going into the big clash in Budapest.
