Arsenal coach Gabriel Heinze is a bit of a forgotten man in the current set up but Piero Hincapie has given the Uruguayan his flowers.
Hincapie has the pleasure of being able to learn from Heinze given they play the same position and it’s obvious things are working out well.
However, while set-piece coach Nicolas Jover gets a lot of praise, Hincapie has spoken on just how important Heinze is as well.
Piero Hincapie praises Gabriel Heinze’s role at Arsenal
Every title-winning squad has people in the background doing plenty of work while the players and manager take centre stage.
Heinze is one of those, and speaking about his coach, Hincapie was full of praise for how he and Mikel Arteta work together.
“He’s always giving advice to everyone. Honestly, because I think he’s a great role model for us too, and having him there giving you advice and being there every day in training is very important for us, and with Mikel, the truth is that he has a very strong character,” Hincapie said of Heinze.

Adding further comment on the duo of Heinze and Arteta, Hincapie admitted they complement each other well.
“He really likes very intense training sessions. He likes the players to always be focused at the highest level because that’s what the league demands. So, you know, well, I think I’ve also adapted very well to what he asks of us, to what he demands at every moment of the game.
“And well, I’m very happy to have them both.”
What Mikel Arteta said about Gabriel Heinze’s influence on his career
Mikel Arteta is very much a man of standards and that shows in how his team plays and approaches every game.
But that must come from somewhere and it seems that Arteta was very much influenced by Heinze and former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
“[Mauricio] Pochettino and Heinze, those two were next to me all the time [at PSG], behind me, and they were guiding me in everything I had to do in my professional life, how I had to understand the game and they were inspirational to me,” Arteta said when Arsenal appointed Heinze.
Clearly, the dynamic and similar thought process is working brilliantly for the Gunners.
Winning the title would just top it off nicely and prove that Heinze and Arteta have very much got it spot on.
