Thiago Silva can’t believe what he is seeing at Arsenal this season

Thiago Silva claims that he has never seen an Arsenal team play with such confidence as they are under Mikel Arteta this season.

The Gunners are on course for a historic season as they are top of the Premier League, in the Champions League Round of 16, the Carabao Cup final and the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Mikel Arteta’s team are undouabley the best in Europe right now and look well on course to end their wait for silverware under the Spanish coach.

Ahead of a huge final few months, Silva has been speaking about his former rivals and admitted that he has been so impressed by them this season.

Thiago Silva stunned by Arsenal’s confidence

Former Chelsea captain Thiago Silva has been stunned by Arsenal’s confidence this season and thinks they are a ‘very strong’ team.

Silva has been shocked that Arsenal are yet to win anything under Arteta, but thinks they have improved year on year with the Spaniard.

When asked about the Gunners, Silva told TNT Sports Brasil: “Even though they were rivals of mine for some time, it’s a very strong team that has become even stronger in recent years.

“Even though they didn’t win some competitions, they probably should have won, but for certain reasons, they didn’t.

“Our biggest rival, Arsenal, I think are having an incredible season, playing with a level of confidence we haven’t seen before.”

Arsenal are seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table and finally look set to end their wait to become champions of England.

The 41-year-old played against them for AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, but he does not have many happy memories.

The Brazilian legend played 11 times against the Gunners, but one just one, whilst also losing on seven occasions.

However, Silva was very complimentary of the Gunners and showed just how well respected this Arsenal team is across the globe.
