Thierry Henry jokingly threatened to walk off live on TV after the Arsenal legend was asked if he would ever play for Tottenham.
Speaking as a pundit on CBS Sports’ UEFA Champions League coverage, Henry was asked if he would ever consider signing for Tottenham, to which the all-time Arsenal goalscorer said: “Oh please, I am leaving. Joking aside, even though I wasn’t joking on that one, I had an opportunity and I declined, I said no.”

Whilst Henry teased the idea that a major Arsenal rival once came in for him, it’s hard to imagine that the club was ever Tottenham given how fierce the north London rivalry is, not to mention how far out of their league the striker is for a club like Spurs.
Although Arsenal did cross the north London divide to famously sign Sol Campbell in 2001, no major transfer is yet to occur since this move over 22 years ago. And given Henry’s love for the Gunners and how much the club mean to him, the idea of the attacker ever joining Tottenham seems like the work of fantasy.
Indeed, the rivalry between Arsenal and Tottenham has only grown more fierce following the rise of Spurs in recent years. And whilst there could be some appeal to joining Antonio Conte’s side, Henry was more than right to dismiss any sort of chance to join the Gunners’ biggest rivals.
