Talks have stalled between Arsenal and Thomas Partey over a new contract, putting the midfielder’s future in serious doubt.

The Ghanaian international has just under two weeks remaining on his current deal, meaning he can leave as a free agent next month if an extension cannot be agreed upon.

Arsenal have been in contract talks with Partey for a few weeks now, looking to tie him down to another deal.

However, it seems as though an exit could be on the cards if things don’t move quickly.

That’s because talks between Arsenal and Thomas Partey appear to be at an impasse.

Thomas Partey wants contract pay increase while Arsenal hold firm on talks

As time ticks away, Arsenal are at serious risk of losing Partey on a free transfer this summer, as days remain on his deal.

Clubs abroad have held talks with Partey on a potential move, though priority has been given to the Gunners to sort out his future.

Things appear to be stalling, however, as Caught Offside reports that talks are at an impasse at this stage.

It’s claimed that Arsenal are holding firm on their valuation regarding wages, while Partey’s agent wants an increase on it, or an exit will follow.

Along with the interest from the Emirates Stadium outfit in a renewal, there comes some potential moves from abroad.

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are claimed to want him, along with AC Milan, who are all looking to bag a potential bargain.

For Arsenal, it means there is pressure to wrap up a deal quickly or look elsewhere in the market.

Andrea Berta will have to act fast to replace Thomas Partey, he was key in 2024/25

The decision of the club at this point will be important, with Arsenal facing a huge couple of weeks ahead.

Andrea Berta must decide whether to stand firm on the current contract proposal or face the risk of being forced to look elsewhere in the market.

If a new deal is drafted, then he may have to act quickly to avoid the drama that comes with interest from elsewhere.

If not, and Partey decides to leave, then it may be tough to find a suitable replacement in the market for him.

Having appeared in 82% of the available minutes in the Premier League, the midfielder has been rather ever-present for the Gunners.

If he were to leave, that’s a lot of minutes that will have to be replaced in the transfer market.

While Martin Zubimendi is set to join Arsenal, he is seen as more of a Jorginho replacement, rather than a direct replacement for Partey.

That means Berta would have to act fast again, entering the market for another midfielder who could play that deeper role.
