The Arsenal players will arrive with the England squad tonight and manager Thomas Tuchel has spoken of how Eberechi Eze will need to be looked after.

Eze missed one of the crucial penalties in the Champions League final to ensure PSG made it two titles in a row in Europe.

After being given five days off, Eze will arrive in the USA with Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Noni Madueke ahead of looking to make an impact for the Three Lions.

Of course, Eze will arrive knowing he was the one who cost Arsenal. But for Thomas Tuchel, it’s all about both he and group taking care of the Arsenal man.

Thomas Tuchel backs England’s squad to ‘take care’ of Eberechi Eze

Both Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice are more or less guaranteed starters for England, whereas Eze and Madueke are more likely to play roles off the bench.

Nevertheless, Tuchel sees Eze as key and he’s had a message for the Arsenal man ahead of his arrival.

“It’s painful for Ebs but of course, I will take care of it, the group will take care of him and I think the extra week they had will help a lot,” Tuchel said of the Arsenal midfielder.

“They’ve absolutely had a great season. They should know that a final just comes down to one or two shots in a penalty shoot-out which means it cannot be closer. At some point, a winner has to be found.

“I have lost some finals in a penalty shoot-out and it’s the closest way to lose and it hurts, of course. It hurts a lot to lose big finals but a penalty means you did everything right. It couldn’t be closer.

“But it also means you were absolutely on the same level with maybe the best team in the world at the moment.”

There is, of course, a way for Eze to put all his Arsenal pain behind him and that is by helping England succeed.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that Eze is also coming off of a good feeling in terms of the Arsenal title celebrations.

With Tuchel and the player’s help, he will be just fine and with a bit of luck, he’ll play a key role for the Three Lions this summer.
