The 15-year-old has already become a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s squad this season, and his performances at such a young age have caught the eye.

Dowman is one of the most talented 15-year-olds the Premier League has ever seen, and there are real hopes he can make a big impact at the Emirates Stadium.

Tim Howard can’t believe Max Dowman’s age when he plays for Arsenal

Tim Howard has admitted that he finds it unbelievable that Max Dowman is playing so well for Arsenal at just 15.

Last weekend, Dowman created Champions League history against Slavia Prague, becoming the youngest player ever to feature in the competition.

The former Premier League goalkeeper says it would be tricky to tell his age, given the quality he possesses when he’s in action for the Gunners.

Speaking about the teenager, Howard told Unfiltered Soccer: “You know what’s wild? Max Dowman, you’re like, he’s 15 years old.

“Bro, he gets on the pitch, and if you were just watching the game and you didn’t know any background, you’re like, he’s nice, he’s silky.

“And you’re like, he’s 15, dude, he can’t even get, he’s got to have security, can’t even get changed in the same dressing room as the senior players. Like, it’s wild. It’s wild.”

Dowman, who is mentored by Declan Rice, is slowly being integrated into Arteta’s team in North London, but he’s getting so many great opportunities.

Youngest players to make a Champions League appearance

Dowman moved ahead of both Youssoufa Moukoko and Lamine Yamal in the list of youngest Champions League appearance makers.

The Hale End star was the first player aged under 16 to ever appear in the competition, highlighting just how special he is.

There will certainly be hope at the Emirates that Dowman can go on to replicate what Yamal did at Barcelona at a similar age.

Right now, Arteta doesn’t appear to be rushing the youngster and is just easing him into life in the first-team squad.
